What is your average bill review turnaround time?
At Bridgeway Medical, we monitor turnaround time on a weekly basis.  Our current standard is four (4) days.  However, we strive to improve this by recommending that our clients send their bills to us electronically.  There are several electronic options available.

Do you perform State Reporting?
In addition to providing cost containment services, our bill review system meets all state electronic reporting requirements.  The biggest challenge for those in the Workers' Compensation arena is not the process of reporting required data to the state...the real challenge is obtaining or extracting the data and preparing it for reporting.  Our system ensures all appropriate data is collected and reported based on state requirements.  In addition, our State Reporting Module is consistently updated as new states implement or modify existing reporting requirements, giving you peace of mind that your medical data reporting activities are within each jurisdiction's mandated rules and regulations.

Do you provide services on a nationwide basis?
Bridgeway Medical provides Medical Bill Audits, Bill Review Solutions, Custom Pharmacy Programs, Medical Cost Projections, PPO Network access, and other specialty services nationwide.

How does Bridgeway Rx handle a claimant with multiple claims on one Member ID?
We currently advise clients to handle a claimant with multiple claims on one Member ID and to divide the invoice between the applicable claims at their office.  The client would then pay us with multiple checks for different parts of the same invoice.  The reason we advise you to handle claimants in this manner is because the DUR (Drug Utilization Review) system currently utilized at the retail pharmacy level will cross-check for drug-drug interactions and duplicate therapies across claims.  If we were to keep three claims for the same claimant seperate, the DUR system would be unable to compare the drugs from the different claims, thus allowing the claimant to fill the the same or similar prescriptions on each claim (assuming they had three valid prescriptions).  Also, you would have to depend upon the claimant to present the correct card for the correct injury.  The drugs themselves do not generally indicate which injury is being treated.  However, we could issue a seperate card with a unique Member ID for each claim, but you would lose a bit of the control you gain from keeping them all together.

What are the advantages of using Bridgeway Rx's prescription card instead of filing paper claims?
Most often, the charge on the paper claim is above fee schedule.  When a paper claim is filed, Bridgeway Rx will reduce the pharmacy bill to fee schedule.  When prescriptions are filled with the Bridgeway Rx prescription card, the charge will generally be less than fee schedule and will never exceed fee schedule.  Additional savings are also seen with the card and include:  a reduction in prescriptions refilled too often (earlier than scheduled), a reduction in unnecessary duplicate therapy (regardless of the claimant filing at multiple pharmacies), a reduction in the prescriptions given to a claimant that might interact with each other (regardless of the claimant filing at multiple pharmacies), claimants who request a brand name drug when the prescribing physician has authorized generics will share in the cost of the medication, and prescriptions filled are on your approved formulary (any exceptions require your approval).

A claim was paid by the Bridgeway Rx prescription card for a medication for one of my claimants, but the prescriber was not an authorized prescriber.  How do I avoid this in the future?
During the enrollment process on the Bridgeway Rx website, there are two ways to indicate that there is a restriction on the prescriber. First, you may enter the DEA of the prescriber in the Physician field.  There are four fields, so you may add up to four prescribers.  If you do not know the DEA of the prescriber, then you may add the physician's name, address, and phone number in the "Notes" field, and Bridgeway Rx will take care of the rest.  If you need to add a restriction after you have enrolled the claimant, send an e-mail to rx@bridgewaymedical.com or call 800.683.1254 with the prescriber information.
